Master PMC: Project Management on the Field – the workshop
How do you work on the field? What are the main strategies to plan, monitor and evaluate a project on the field? What are the principles to follow and the tools to use to do your job at the best?
Our Master PMC Students learned all these concepts during a 4-day intensive in-class workshop.
From Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 of March 2021, the students worked together both in-person and remotely. Half of the students were in Madrid and the other half were connected via zoom. They all collaborated during the workshop thanks to this mixed formula, tested by the School for the first time on this occasion.
Our fellows had the chance to meet with lecturers, Alessio Di Carlo, Master PMC Director and Vice President of CooperAction Onlus, and Paula de Dios Ruiz, Program Manager at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, former Donor Support and Compliance Officer at Plan International Spain.
Among other topics students went through with the lecturers, they specifically delved into: Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, and the Financial Reporting of a Project.
Fellows went through a real journey with the project start-up, by coordinating and planning all the resources and the activity of the project, learning how to manage a donor contract, focusing on the eligibility criteria, the procurement procedures, the communication and visibility strategies and the possible required modifications. Then they moved to two of the most important dimensions of the Project Cycle, Monitoring and Evaluation processes, arriving to the closing phase of the project, in order to be able to manage the tools for the reporting, the handover and the donor audit.
