Master in Fundraising lands in Madrid: Fundraising Channels workshop with our partner NGOs

Workshop on Fundraising Channels: Communication, Campaigning, Lobbying, Web Marketing, Social Media!

From October 26th to the 29th, students of FRAME- Master in FundRaising Management in the NGOs Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, Social Media, Campaigns, participated to the Workshop on Fundraising Channels: Communication, Campaigning, Lobbying, Web Marketing, Social Media.

Once again, the Workshop took place in Madrid and it was led by lecturers from some of the Social Change School’s international partnersSave the Children Italy, Acción contra el HambreSave the Children Spain and Change.org 

During the Workshop the students had the chance to discover more about Communication in the NonProfit sector starting from the communication plan, to the strategies in creating an effective press releasesocial media management and to the creation of effective campaigns for the organization using Digital Marketing, learning about many tools and doing many practical exercises.

The last two days were dedicated to understanding the impact of Campaigning and Lobbying in order to improve the impact of the projects, and to discovering Story Telling techinques: the art to tell a story.

Federico Atzori, the Master FRAME Coordinator comments the Madrid workshop:

“Spain is probably one of the most fascinating cases in Europe, that promises major growth in the communication sector of organisations in the third sector only behind the UK.” 

The first day was about the Communication Plan, the Press Office and Press Release, held by Filippo Ungaro, Director of Communications, Campaigning and Volunteers at Save the Children Italia and by Susana Hidalgo, Head of Communications, Save the Children Spain.

The communication strategies of the organisation are affected by the digital age, that gives an insight into expectations for the future, no one better than Arancha Sanz, Digital Marketing Manager at Acción contra el Hambre could have explained the aspects of the digital marketing and the social media management.

David Garcia from Change.org explained Campaigning and Lobbying with a focus on the digital aspects and Luis Aguado, also from Change.org, held the session on Story Telling and highlighted the importance of showing emotions.

The workshop was a laboratory in which the students had the chance to apply the theory to their Project Work overseen by the lecturer.
