Elisa Paz was born in Madrid. Graduated in Law at the Complutense University in Madrid, she has a Masters Degree in International Development and Project Management, as well as several specialization degrees in Gender Issues.
She began her professional career in Mauritania and since then she has been working in the field for the last 17 years based in DRC, Rwanda, Algeria, Palestine, Guatemala, Spain, and Senegal.
She has been jumping from Humanitarian interventions to the Development sector and Migration related activities, mainly within the International NGO Sector but also with the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Cooperation Department in Palestine as well as coordinating the United National Volunteer program in Guatemala.
At the moment, she is Director of International Programmes at Plan international Spain.
Throughout the years, Elisa has gained a good knowledge of project formulation, team management, evaluation techniques and practices as well as how to integrate gender responsive initiatives and gender-based violence (GBV) prevention, risk mitigation and response interventions into the different programs.
From a personal point of view, Elisa likes to consider herself a passionate person, responsible, dynamic, capable of resolving operational problems, friendly, very used to working in multicultural environments and characters, and capable of withstanding changing environments and stress situations.
She loves reading, traveling and hanging out with friends.
