{"id":37680,"date":"2017-03-01T13:03:38","date_gmt":"2017-03-01T13:03:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/socialchangeschool.org\/01\/03\/2017\/a-new-challenging-field-experience-for-hope-students\/"},"modified":"2023-03-28T09:09:35","modified_gmt":"2023-03-28T09:09:35","slug":"a-new-challenging-field-experience-for-hope-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/01\/03\/2017\/a-new-challenging-field-experience-for-hope-students\/","title":{"rendered":"A new challenging Field Experience for HOPE students!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Giulia Pizzuti<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The students of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/master\/master-in-humanitarian-operations-in-emergencies-managing-projects-people-administration-logistic-in-the-field\/\"><strong>Master\u00a0<\/strong><strong>HOPE<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>in Humanitarian Operations in Emergencies Managing Projects, People, Administration &amp; Logistics in the field<\/strong><\/a> participated, from the 21st to the 24th of February, to the field experience organized in the <a href=\"https:\/\/unhrd.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UNHRD<\/a> Base in Brindisi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A group of 13 students took part in the field experience, all the activities have been organized and lead\u00a0with the presence of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/docenti\/lodovico-mariani\/\">Lodovico Mariani<\/a><\/strong>, HOPE Master Director and Head of Finance at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amref.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amref Italia<\/a>, <strong>Francesca Matarazzi<\/strong>, Regional Director Assistant at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intersos.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">INTERSOS<\/a>, <strong>Davide Berruti<\/strong>, HR Manager at INTERSOS, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/docenti\/doralisa-mercurio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Dora Lisa Mercurio<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/faculty\/giulia-pizzuti\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Giulia Pizzuti<\/strong><\/a>, Social Change School Staff.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The three days have been extremely\u00a0interesting and challenging for the students, they had the chance to know and get in touch with the problems and needs that can arise during a humanitarian emergency.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">All the activities have been organized to improve student\u2019s capacities to <strong>plan and implement responses to emergency situations<\/strong>. A special attention has been paid on presenting and gaining a practical knowledge on how to react and respond to some of the challenges that it is possible to face while planning the management and coordination of the activities and the organization process during an emergency.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The majority of the students affirmed that the field experience represented an important and enriching moment that gave them the possibility to get in touch with <strong>specific dynamics and problems<\/strong> that they didn\u2019t face before.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Field Experience ended\u00a0with the visit to the <strong>UNHRD Base Lab<\/strong>. During this last activity, the students could look at and get to know the details of the <strong>instruments and tools<\/strong> that are provided and used during the <strong>humanitarian emergency missions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In Brindisi, both participants and organizers, had the opportunity\u00a0to live a great and enriching experience.
