In this piece, Marco Crescenzi<\/a> launches Fair working<\/strong>, a fair and supportive vision of Smart working, asking himself whether it is possible to “work less, but better, for everyone<\/em>“. He does so through the exhibition of international research<\/strong> of great interest and a more strictly managerial final analysis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n


In a hyper-connected but often unproductive “burnout society”, with redundant processes that reduce working times, with the need of being more effective, with problems – especially for women – of double work and family load, and millions of people unemployed, the old model of the “eight hours” seems a residue of the past.<\/p>\n

The paper deals with the theme of work<\/strong> from different perspectives. While they might seem incompatible, in the end, they all converge fully: from an existential perspective<\/strong> (too many hours), to sociological research<\/strong> (international experiences on work\/productivity) to a managerial<\/strong> one (how to work less but more effectively).<\/p>\n


In the end, the stimulus<\/strong> launched by Marco Crescenzi to managers and HRMs in the sector, as well as to all the workers in the Third Sector, is: “The non-profit must be an example to overcome the intoxicating “smart working” model, for a smart and efficient Fair working<\/em>“, which will be good for workers, trade unions, managers and boards of organizations.<\/p>\n
