NGO 2020: Innovation First! \u2013 by Marco Crescenzi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The year is coming to an end and Social Change School is ready to face the new challenges that 2020 is already presenting. The School will soon start a cycle of meetings focused on the use of models and technologies necessary to the evolution and growth of European NGOs, some of which are currently risking obsolescence.<\/p>\n<p>Among these topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Impact Evaluation<\/strong>: learning how to design, manage and evaluate the NGO&#8217;s social impact. It is essential to comprehend the nature of the organization&#8217;s incomes and outcomes, studying the target, which can be made of institutional donors or not, philanthropists, but also by millennial individual donors.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fundraising vs Philanthropy<\/strong>: learning to care for the relationship with the donor, which nowadays requires more and more an \u201c<strong>evidence based<\/strong>\u201d approach. Therefore, we should aim to move from a classic method of fundraising, exclusively based on massive marketing campaigns, to a method mainly focused on caring about each relationship. This is the only way NGOs will be able to receive testamentary bequests.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>External Communication<\/strong>: learning to use all communication levers, including storytelling, a neat and detailed\u00a0<strong>narration<\/strong> of everything the NGO does for the region in which is working. Nowadays we can&#8217;t only interact with institutions; we need a new third sector culture able to speak a contemporary language.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Big Data Management<\/strong>: learning to use big data, as instruments to plan interventions and action strategies. NGOs need to be \u201cblockchain driven\u201d, opening up to the chance of certifying donations and processes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Human Resources Management<\/strong>: learning to recognize talents, using the most sophisticated tools for recruitment to select the best resources and overcome a certain feeling of organizational inefficiency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The year is coming to an end and Social Change School is ready to face the new challenges that 2020 is already presenting.
