{"id":2657,"date":"2018-11-14T08:51:33","date_gmt":"2018-11-14T08:51:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/socialchangeschool.org\/2018\/11\/master-pmc-fellows-in-rome-for-a-workshop-on-advanced-project-management-techniques\/"},"modified":"2024-03-18T14:10:12","modified_gmt":"2024-03-18T14:10:12","slug":"master-pmc-fellows-in-rome-for-a-workshop-on-advanced-project-management-techniques","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/14\/11\/2018\/master-pmc-fellows-in-rome-for-a-workshop-on-advanced-project-management-techniques\/","title":{"rendered":"Master PMC fellows in Rome for a Workshop on Advanced Project Management Techniques"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Between the 26<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and the 28<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0of October 2018, fellows of\u00a0the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/master\/master-in-project-management-international-cooperation-local-development\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Master PMC- Project Management for International Cooperation, Euro-Project Management and Local Development<\/a><\/strong>, June 2018 Edition, landed in Rome for the cycle of workshops on \u201c<strong>ADVANCED PROJECT MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES IN COOPERATION FOR DEVELOPMENT\u201d.\u00a0<\/strong>The workshop was held at the Polo Didattico and led by\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/docenti\/andrea-stroppiana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Andrea Stroppiana<\/a><\/strong>, from the NGO\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsite.ongrc.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ricerca e Cooperazione<\/a>\u00a0and consultant of the European Commission\u2019s projects and programs, expert in participatory methods applied to project management in development contexts (GOPP Method).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/11\/collage.jpeg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/11\/collage.jpeg\" alt=\"Master PMC fellows in Rome for a Workshop on Advanced Project Management Techniques\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-31871\" \/><\/a>The first day focused on \u201c<strong>Project\u00a0 Management Techniques. Project Cycle Management (PCM).\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>Introducing project design, A. Stroppiana presented the main causes of project failure and different case studies. He then delved into PROJECT CYCLE MANAGEMENT: analysis, tools, context (sector, final beneficiaries and intervention area) and use. The second half of the day was centred on stakeholder and problems\u2019 analysis.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday 27<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0was dedicated to \u201c<strong>The Logical Framework \u2018by results\u2019\u201d<\/strong>. This session aimed to give the students the knowledge and tools to conduct an analysis of objectives, expected results and activities necessary to create an intervention logic. They delved into the Logical Framework, the Formulation phase, and the use of the Log Frame in PCM.<br \/>During the second part of the day, fellows were able to put the theory of Logical Framework into practice through different group exercises.<\/p>\n<p>The final day of workshop was dedicated to \u201c<strong>Indicators, Risks and Obstacles for the Start-up of a Development Project\u201d<\/strong><strong>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The objectives achieved by the end of the day were to understand the composition, type and development of indicators, to choose the correct sources of verification for the indicators, and finally, to conduct the risk analysis of a project.<\/p>\n<p>Fellows were particularly satisfied by the number of examples presented by Andrea Stroppiana and based on his personal experience; one of our students commented \u201cI have particularly appreciated the way the lecturer made us participate to the lecture, supporting and encouraging all participants to build contents and generally during the whole workshop.
