{"id":2653,"date":"2018-10-10T07:44:19","date_gmt":"2018-10-10T07:44:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/socialchangeschool.org\/2018\/10\/master-hope-great-success-of-the-field-experience-at-the-unhrd-base-in-brindisi\/"},"modified":"2024-03-18T14:10:13","modified_gmt":"2024-03-18T14:10:13","slug":"master-hope-great-success-of-the-field-experience-at-the-unhrd-base-in-brindisi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/10\/10\/2018\/master-hope-great-success-of-the-field-experience-at-the-unhrd-base-in-brindisi\/","title":{"rendered":"MASTER HOPE: great success of the Field Experience at the UNHRD base in Brindisi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">From the 25<sup>th<\/sup> to the 28<sup>th<\/sup> of September 2018, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/master\/master-in-humanitarian-operations-in-emergencies-managing-projects-people-administration-logistic-in-the-field\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Master HOPE \u2013 Humanitarian Operations in Emergencies<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0fellows took part to the Field Experience in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/unhrd.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UNHRD<\/a><\/strong> base of Brindisi. <span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/faculty\/lodovico-mariani\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lodovico Mariani<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, <strong>Master HOPE Director and Finance &amp; Administration Director at <\/strong><span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/amref.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amref Health Africa \u2013 Italia<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, <span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/faculty\/tirso-puig-de-la-bellacasa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tirso Puig<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, <strong>Head of Career Development Service at Social Change School and Master HOPE Coordinator<\/strong>, and three trainers from\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.intersos.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">INTERSOS<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Davide Berruti, Francesca Matarazzi e Leonardo Maria Palma \u2013 coordinated the experience.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/10\/COLLAGE1.jpeg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/10\/COLLAGE1.jpeg\" alt=\"MASTER HOPE: great success of the Field Experience at the UNHRD base in Brindisi\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-31831\" \/><\/a>They were three intense days: students took part to the <strong>simulation of a humanitarian emergency<\/strong> to test the skills and competences learnt during the Master. They faced many complex and challenging situations, working with colleagues and dealing with stakeholders to implement a humanitarian response.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Fellows were extremely satisfied with the experience, particularly appreciating \u201cthe opportunity to <strong>put into practice what was learnt during the Master<\/strong>, collaborating with colleagues<strong>, team work<\/strong>, dealing with different situations under pressure and <strong>getting a taste of the real difficulties we might face in the future<\/strong>\u201d. Furthermore, \u201c<strong>the professionality of all the people involved<\/strong>\u201d made the experience a great success. \u201c<strong>Experimenting the role of coordinator<\/strong> in an emergency context was very useful, as it made me better understand the <strong>different kind of stakeholders<\/strong> you have to deal with and <strong>which tools to use<\/strong>\u201d commented a student. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">These were the words of <strong>Tirso Puig<\/strong>, Head of the Career Development Service and Master Coordinator: \u201cStudents <a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/10\/COLLAGE2.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/10\/COLLAGE2.jpeg\" alt=\"MASTER HOPE: great success of the Field Experience at the UNHRD base in Brindisi\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" class=\"alignright wp-image-31832\" \/><\/a>took the simulation very seriously, participating in a decisive, committed and professional way. The Field Experience was very useful to the fellows, particularly when it comes to the way they deepened <strong>skills and knowledge<\/strong> that are difficult to acquire, as well as in terms of <strong>motivation and professional work inclination<\/strong>.\u00a0 I believe the experience was a success, something that we also had the chance to acknowledge during the final debriefing\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Fellows were enthusiastic about the Field Experience, which completely met their expectations \u2013 once again proving to be <strong>a fundamental moment inside the learning path<\/strong>. \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From the 25th to the 28th of September 2018, Master HOPE \u2013 Humanitarian Operations in Emergencies\u00a0fellows took part to the Field Experience in the UNHRD base of Brindisi.
