{"id":2600,"date":"2018-01-31T08:40:40","date_gmt":"2018-01-31T08:40:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/socialchangeschool.org\/2018\/01\/masters-opening-ceremony-ready-to-impact\/"},"modified":"2024-03-18T14:19:18","modified_gmt":"2024-03-18T14:19:18","slug":"masters-opening-ceremony-ready-to-impact","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/31\/01\/2018\/masters-opening-ceremony-ready-to-impact\/","title":{"rendered":"Masters&#8217; Opening Ceremony: Ready to Impact!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The International Masters&#8217; Opening Ceremony that took place on 26th January 2018, was the perfect way to celebrate the new start of a great group of new agents who dream- and act- big!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">As part of the tradition, the <strong>Social Change School President and Founder,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/faculty\/marco-crescenzi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Marco<\/strong> Crescenzi<\/a><\/strong>, warmly welcomed the students, recalling the story and work of the School in the past 20 years and clarifying the meaning of studying and working in the Social Change School and in the NonProfit world. He wished our students \u201cto fully live this path, to start or re-start a career in the NonProfit world, to make the difference with your professional tools and mindset, and to then continue walking together, staying in contact with Social Change School\u2019s network.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">He was then followed by the <strong>Keynote Speech held by Marco de Ponte<\/strong>, General Secretary at\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionaid.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ActionAid Italia<\/a><\/strong>. First of all, he underlined the importance of not being just bureaucrats and professionals, but also, and above all, being activists and politically involved.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Masters Directors were there as well:\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/faculty\/alessio-di-carlo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alessio di Carlo<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(from\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cooperaction.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CooperAction Onlus<\/a><\/strong>)\u00a0for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/master\/master-in-cooperazione-internazionale-europrogettazione-sviluppo-locale\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PMC &#8211; Master in Project Management for International Cooperation<\/a>,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/faculty\/lodovico-mariani\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lodovico Mariani<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/master\/international-master\/master-in-project-management-for-international-development-and-humanitarian-aid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HOPE &#8211;\u00a0Master in Humanitarian Operations in Emergencies<\/a>,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/faculty\/filippo-ungaro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Filippo Ungaro<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/master\/master-in-fundraising-management-comunicazione-marketing-campaigning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FRAME &#8211; Master in Fundraising Management<\/a>\u00a0(who were also there to represent\u00a0our partner organisations\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amref.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amref Health Africa Italy<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.savethechildren.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Save The Children\u00a0Italia<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The representatives of our loyal partners accompanied and supported our students during this special and important day: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coopi.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COOPI &#8211; Cooperazione internazionale<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>with the <strong>HR Manager Mauro Rivolta,<\/strong>\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aics.gov.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italian Agency for Development Cooperation<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a0<strong>Marta Collu<\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wwf.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WWF\u00a0Italia<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>with the <strong>Responsible for Biodiversity and\u00a0Young Coordinator Marco Galaverni<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.intersos.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">INTERSOS<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>with the <strong>Head of Emergency Unit Marcelo Garcia Dalla Costa<\/strong>, and the above-mentioned<strong> Filippo Ungaro<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.savethechildren.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Save The Children\u00a0Italia<\/strong><\/a> and\u00a0<strong>Lodovico Mariani<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amref.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amref Health Africa Italy.<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>This was the first meeting between our students and the partner organisations, and it is just the beginning of an ongoing relationship; during this year of Master the students will get to know different realities and people of the world of the NGOs, starting from the lecturers that, as every year, are sector professionals, to then meet the HR of some of our partners when testing their skills in a job interview.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">During the afternoon, as\u00a0per tradition, one of our new graduates, Paola Pane from FRAME Master Edition 2016, made a<strong>\u00a0symbolic handover \u201centrusting\u201d\u00a0the banner of the Social Change School<\/strong>\u00a0to a new student. \u00a0She also shared her Master experience and the opportunities that the school offered her, she stressed the importance of being proactive students and of networking with the professionals met during the Master and to have the right attitude\u00a0to take advantage of the many opportunities offered. Thanks to her proactive and positive attitude and to the support of the Career Development Service of the School, Paola is now working for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Caritas-Internationalis\/107835605905600?fref=mentions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Caritas Internationalis<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Students then met the members of the Staff.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/faculty\/cinzia-dintino\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cinzia D&#8217;Intino<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; Head of Didactics, presented the didactic structure of the school: didactic areas and activities that students will undertake during the year.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/faculty\/mariasole-raimondi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tirso Puig de la Bellacasa<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; Head of Career Development Service and Master HOPE Coordinator, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/faculty\/tirso-puig-de-la-bellacasa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mariasole Raimondi<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0Master FRAME Coordinator, presented the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/didattica\/career-development\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Career Development<\/a> Unit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">At the end of the day, it was time for\u00a0our new fellows\u00a0to introduce themselves with the help of a personal object and to share their dreams and expectations with the others.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Cinzia D&#8217;Intino\u00a0commented that \u201cit was an intense day during which we have finally got to meet the students!
