{"id":2598,"date":"2018-01-22T10:24:20","date_gmt":"2018-01-22T10:24:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/socialchangeschool.org\/2018\/01\/workshop-management-leadership-development-in-madrid-for-the-international-masters\/"},"modified":"2024-03-18T14:19:18","modified_gmt":"2024-03-18T14:19:18","slug":"workshop-management-leadership-development-in-madrid-for-the-international-masters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/22\/01\/2018\/workshop-management-leadership-development-in-madrid-for-the-international-masters\/","title":{"rendered":"Workshop &#8220;Management &amp; Leadership Development\u201d in Madrid for the International Masters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Workshop <strong>\u201cManagement &amp; Leadership Development<\/strong>\u201d took place in <strong>Madrid<\/strong> between the 18<sup>th<\/sup> and 21<sup>st<\/sup> of January for the International Masters Social Change School:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/master\/master-in-fundraising-management-comunication-marketing-campaigning\/\">FRAME- Master in Fundraising Management in the NGOs Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, Social Media, Campaigns<\/a>;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/master\/master-in-humanitarian-operations-in-emergencies-managing-projects-people-administration-logistic-in-the-field\/\">HOPE \u2013Master in Humanitarian Operations in Emergencies Managing Projects, People, Administration &amp; Logistic in the field<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/master\/master-in-project-management-international-cooperation-local-development\/\">PMC \u2013\u00a0Master in Project Management for International Cooperation, Euro-Project Management and Local Development<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 June 2017 Edition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Workshop was held at EUROCESS with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/faculty\/marco-crescenzi\/\"><strong>Marco Crescenzi\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>&#8211;\u00a0President and Founder of Social Change School<strong>;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/faculty\/silvia-fontana\/\">Silvia Fontana<\/a>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Researcher UniPD and Peace Ambassador, Senior Advisor of Social Change School;\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/jarodiego85\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Diego Battistessa<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;<\/strong>\u00a0Lecturer, Researcher and Academic Coordinator for Universidad Carlos III de Madrid;\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/faculty\/tirso-puig-de-la-bellacasa\/\">Tirso Puig de la Bellacasa<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;<\/strong>\u00a0Head of Career Development Service Social Change School and\u00a0<strong>Susana Casla<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Talent &amp; Innovation Specialist, Head of\u00a0<a class=\"profileLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ESCOACHING.Spain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ESCOACHING<\/a>\u00a0and Tartessos Ventures President.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Once again, staff and lecturers welcomed the students in Madrid with a dense programme but surely with enough time to enjoy the city and spanish food and culture!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Day 1: \u201cSELF-EFFECTIVENESS AND PERSONAL ASSERTIVENESS\u201d &amp; \u201cSELF-EFFECTIVENESS AND ASSERTIVENESS IN TEAM WORK\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/01\/Workshop-madrid-maschera1.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-32598 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/01\/Workshop-madrid-maschera1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Workshop madrid - maschera1\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Silvia Fontana \u00a0(Researcher UniPD and Peace Ambassador, Senior Advisor of Social Change School) and\u00a0<strong>Susana Casla<\/strong>(Talent &amp; Innovation Specialist, Head of\u00a0ESCOACHING and President Tartessos Ventures) started the workshop on: \u201c<strong>SELF-EFFECTIVENESS AND PERSONAL ASSERTIVENESS\u201d. <\/strong>The aim of the morning, was\u00a0to understand the meaning and importance of self-effectiveness both in private life and at work, and applying it to NonProfit organisations and to their values. As for personal assertiveness, the understanding on how persuading others peacefully.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The afternoon shifted towards \u201cSELF-EFFECTIVENESS AND ASSERTIVENESS IN TEAM WORK\u201d:\u00a0 how to build a <strong>team<\/strong>, manage <strong>diversity<\/strong> and promote <strong>talented staff<\/strong> within a group.\u00a0 They presented the <strong>Whole-Brain model of Ned Herrmann<\/strong>, thanks to which the students could gain a better understanding of their own personal working style and team.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Day 2. \u201cPUBLIC SPEAKING. How to speak in an effective way\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/01\/26734313_1740982439285794_1117623832853336104_n-e1516613842769.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-32597 size-medium alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/01\/26734313_1740982439285794_1117623832853336104_n-e1516613842769-300x184.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"184\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Friday 19 was totally dedicate to<strong> \u201cPUBLIC SPEAKING. How to speak in an effective way\u201d<\/strong> with Silvia Fontana. Learning objectives of the day were to give the students an understanding of different contexts, and how to manage and deal with the <strong>audience,\u00a0<\/strong>raising awareness on <strong>fears, mindsets, key messages, nonverbal and paraverbal communication; <\/strong>tools and strategies for being persuasive communicators and instilling authority and confidence. The final part of the day, focused on the presentation of their final <strong>Project Work<\/strong>, with a laboratory on\u00a0 <strong>how to\u00a0submit a project in public<\/strong>\u00a0and on how to manage the Starting, Developing, Closing phases of a speech.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Day 3. \u201cCONFLIC NEGOTIATION\u201d &amp; \u201cCAREER DEVELOPMENT SERVICE\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/01\/26734331_1742844035766301_4262636168693759152_n-e1516613976226.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-32594 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/01\/26734331_1742844035766301_4262636168693759152_n-e1516613976226-300x256.jpg\" alt=\"Workshop Jan 18- Madrid\" width=\"300\" height=\"256\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Saturday 20, was focused on <strong>CONFLICT NEGOTIATION <\/strong>with\u00a0<strong>Diego Battistessa<\/strong> (Lecturer, Researcher and Academic Coordinator at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">D. Battistessa\u00a0presented case studies on conflict negotiation in the NonProfit, identifying different categories and main reasons. And then delved into &#8220;MANAGING CONFLICT IN A COOPERATIVE WAY&#8221; with role-playing activities and laboratories.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The afternoon focused instead on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/didattica\/career-development\/\"><b>Career Development Service<\/b><\/a> of the Social Change School, with Silvia Fontana and Tirso Puig de la Bellacasa, Head of the Career Development Service. Presenting the students how the service\u00a0 works and the importance of a well structured and tailored CV.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Day 4. &#8220;PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT: LEADERSHIP\u201d &amp; \u201cPERSONAL\u00a0<\/strong><strong>SWOT and PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The 21<sup>st<\/sup> morning was dedicated to \u201c<strong>PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT: LEADERSHIP\u201d <\/strong>with <strong>Marco Crescenzi<\/strong>, President and Founder Social Change School. Amongst the learning objectives, was the understanding of the difference between <strong>non profit and for profit management and between Management and Leadership.\u00a0<\/strong>They then looked into &#8220;<strong>Leadership, what is it? what are the styles and contexts<\/strong>?&#8221;, together with a reflection on our own mindset, responsibility status (up) and psychological position (adult-adult), fears, imagination, key messages, approaches and charisma.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Finally, during the afternoon, the students looked at the <strong>PERSONAL SWOT and PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN<\/strong>\u00a0with a laboratory led by Silvia Fontana and Tirso Puig de la Bellacasa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">It was an intense but extremely rewarding and productive weekend for both our students and lecturers, surely a unique opportunity for mastering the key skills and tools for being effective leaders and communicators!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Workshop \u201cManagement &amp;
