A\u00a0coherent solution for those who come from the \u201c<strong>for profit<\/strong>\u201d sector. The main problem is that for the sector, there is more demand than supply(offer): practically, we do not have enough professionals \u2013 we try as a school to \u00a0meet- \u00a0the needs of the NGOs\u2019 requests. As Italy is fondly reffered to as either ridiculous or dramatic, just that, the whole world is searching for fundraisers, in the USA, Europe, Singapore, Hong Kong and as well as \u00a0Bangkok. <strong>Why?<\/strong> Because with reduced public funds, fundraisers are those who ensure the financial survival of the NGOs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">What is it about? Fundraising is not about just \u2018<strong>raising funds\u2019<\/strong>: it is about \u2018creating social investment\u2019, partnerships and projects with a strong impact. A citizenship tool that offers participation rather than asking for it, co-investment in sensible causes. For that reason, it is a profession that attracts those who are from the communication, marketing, and business sector (like former managers and consultants) but also people with an\u00a0<strong>humanistic background<\/strong>, an educative approach and those who are able to enter into very\u00a0 social non-profit realities, where we do not discuss \u00a0\u201ctarget\/ client portfolio\/remarketing\u201d and other technicalities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In reality, fundraising is not <strong>a single profession<\/strong>, but part of \u00a0wide professional family, \u2018reunited\u2019 with real professional associations, created by structured<a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/master\/master-in-fundraising-management-comunication-marketing-campaigning\/\"> educational paths<\/a>\u00a0that mainly includes:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Corporate Fundraising<\/strong>: synergic partnerships with <strong>for profit enterprises<\/strong>, specialisation of who come from the for profit sector and know the rules, styles and languages, and who know that it is better to show up without an untidy beard, earings on the ears or nose\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Trust Fundraising<\/strong>: of Anglo-Saxons origins, in Italy called the <strong>\u2018fundraising with foundations\u2019<\/strong> of supply, banks or not, today source of a growing financing (think about the role of Cariplo in Italy or-with the appropriate proportions- the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Legacy Fundraising:\u00a0<\/strong> fundraising on <strong>bequest<\/strong>,\u00a0 which was until a few years ago in Italy, almost exclusively under the Church\u2019s dominion, in sharp growth with 104 billion euros for year \u2018free\u2019 by heirs and then potentially available for the non profit \u2013 expected in 2020 (Source: Cariplo Foundation). \u201c<em>It requires a great capacity of listening and <\/em><em>of <\/em><em>creating <\/em><em>a <\/em><em>relationship<\/em><em> of trust<\/em><em>, work on the territory and in the community<\/em>\u201d- reminds us of\u00a0<strong>Stefano Malfatti<\/strong>, one of the best in the sector and he ironically invites everyone to \u2018<em>think at the future\u2019<\/em>! Surely a sector of useful commitment for many lawyers or with juridical education, or psychologists.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Events and Campaigns:<\/strong> organising campaigns is an alternative action strategy and complementary to the projects, and today the diffusion of social media and ad hoc platforms such as change.org make the potential impact much wider and\/or targeted. For someone like the important campaigner Davide Cavazza\u00a0of Altromercato- with whom we wrote the first Italian Manual of Campaigning in 2006 \u2013 \u2018<em>Campaigns come before fundraising\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Individual Donors: <\/strong>as Giancarla Pancione, Marketing and Fundraiser Director of Save the Children Italy, always reminds Italy, that people are the main fundraising scope. It is mainly for that- above the general and good management and the international network, that Save The Children had a growth rate of 428% since 2007 till date in Italy (source: Censis), but also in Emergency, MSF and others. The \u2018Individual&#8217;s\u2019 includes the \u2018big donors\u2019 amongst which the American philanthropic-capitalism- with lights and shades- of protagonism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Community Fundraising<\/strong>: it is the fundraising, done through partnerships\u00a0<strong>with the reference more targeted at the community<\/strong> in its relation, rather than to a single and distinct typology of donors. The work with the actors of the territory, on targeted territorial causes, local development actions. Stimulates the \u2018social\u2019 soul that the business one, also if at the end we still have to bring funds home.
