{"id":2482,"date":"2016-11-08T09:08:41","date_gmt":"2016-11-08T09:08:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/socialchangeschool.org\/2016\/11\/fromthefield-francesca-young-entrepreneurial-mentor\/"},"modified":"2024-03-18T14:20:48","modified_gmt":"2024-03-18T14:20:48","slug":"fromthefield-francesca-young-entrepreneurial-mentor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/08\/11\/2016\/fromthefield-francesca-young-entrepreneurial-mentor\/","title":{"rendered":"#FromtheField: Francesca, a young entrepreneurial mentor!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/master\/master-in-project-management-international-cooperation-local-development\/\">\u00a0PMC Master &#8211; Project Management for International Cooperation<\/a>\u00a0attended at the Social Change School, helped me in defining <strong>my personal and professional path<\/strong>\u00a0which provided me with the<strong> technical tools necessary in order to optimal perform on the field.<\/strong>\u00a0The \u201cpost-master\u201d feel is a unique moment for each and everyone of us, as it is the time of personal experimentsand experiences that\u00a0<strong>opens up a path for an individual.<\/strong>\u00a0I am an example of a person who \u00a0previously worked at \u00a0for-profit organizations and now work in the non-profit sector.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Regarding this fact, I decided to dedicate some of my free time to being a social entrepreneurial mentor also termed as a <strong>counsellor, or a crucial actor in the processes of business learning and education.<\/strong>\u00a0 I am also a part-time desk officer at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dongnocchi.it\/polopoly_fs\/1.3443.1423647935!\/menu\/standard\/file\/Brochure%20in%20inglese_hi_res.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Don Carlo Gnocchi Foundation<\/a>\u00a0NGO\u00a0and dedicate the remaining part of my time to being an entrepreneur in my family-owned business, this is why I conclude, the title &#8220;social entrepreneurial mentor&#8221; is a perfect title\u00a0for me.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Despite not having a senior professional profile, I applied for a bridge-role that opened up doors into the <strong>social economy<\/strong>, not knowing all the answers that a \u201cguide\u201d should have, but knowing that having \u00a0a right attitude is key and working hard will yeild\u00a0results! This\u00a0is a precious oppotunity\u00a0to reach out with a concrete act, make a difference in my own little way,\u00a0has produced promising possibilities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Special thanks to the international mentorship programme, where\u00a0<strong>I encountered a South African coetaneous<\/strong>, Henrietta, <strong>to whom,<\/strong> since October, <strong>I transmit my entrepreneurial and communicative competences <\/strong>to strengthen her potentialities and motivation that are <strong>necessary to manage her social business<\/strong> in the recruiting sector. My duty is to validate her ideas, analyze\u00a0the enthusiasm, testing the project feasibility in theory; in short,<strong> making her dreams and visions meet the market needs. <\/strong>I realize how important and effective it is to<strong> stimulate the innate commercial skills, that the traditional school system has not been able to capture and implement.\u00a0<\/strong>It is Henrietta who \u00a0takes the final decision; I just simply guide her through the evaluation of all the possible scenarios.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition, this process is an excellent training for me as well; it gives me the occasion \u00a0to have a 360\u00b0 view of all the possible context and different alternatives that can arise and lead to the horizon.\u00a0<strong>It is not a one-way relationship, but instead, a continuous exchange of giving and receiving, a parallel growth, while\u00a0learning together. <\/strong>It is important to have a positive attitude of humility and predisposition towards a never-ending learning process, and also being \u00a0open to other point of views.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In her, I find a professional and a woman with whom I can interact and compare, but <strong>also a cultural connection and potential work opportunities in new markets.<\/strong> The mentor collaboration is \u00a0voluntary, therefore, I also have a sense of belonging by giving to the organisation, for this reason, I do not just have fun and gain more awareness, but I am also preparing a <strong>fertile ground for developing hypothetical new synergies<\/strong>.<strong><br \/> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Every young person that steps close to the job world, should have a senior figure of reference with whom working alongside, daring and asking for support&#8230;because<strong> if you don\u2019t ask, you won\u2019t obtain!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You are not \u00a0born as a mentor, you become one.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is not a job, but a role which I urge you to take up in life, because each of us has a responsibility and privilege to \u201c<strong>give
