These words have been a kind of <em>leitmotiv<\/em>\u00a0in my life. I pronounced and wrote them when I was 18, after finishing my minor seminary, where I had been studying since I was 12. I was going to be a priest. It took me 28 years to understand the real meaning of these words, thanks to ASVI Social Change. \u201cThe courage of having dreams and the ability (and skills) of fulfilling them\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I became a priest in 1995, after a traditional educational path with two degrees in philosophy and theology. I spent 10 years working as a teacher and seminary instructor, as a headmaster in a public school (junior and high school) with more than 1000 students, and as a diocesan administrator in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Then I came to Italy. I wanted to study Communication Sciences. After my degree, I was chosen by the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, which sent me to the US for a one-year exchange programme in the University of Missouri School of Journalism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Back to Italy, I started a PhD research on <strong>intercultural communication, <\/strong>focused on the image of poor people in the time of relief operations. This topic raised my interest in <strong>cooperation and humanitarian relief. <\/strong>\u00a0Therefore, I decided to gain skills and get a degree which could help me implementing what I considered good principles for good cooperation, <strong>respectful of dignity in every man.<\/strong> After considering other possibilities, I decided to be part of <strong>ASVI Social Change<\/strong> as positively impressed by its profile and professional plan.
