{"id":2398,"date":"2015-10-23T07:38:55","date_gmt":"2015-10-23T07:38:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/socialchangeschool.org\/2015\/10\/taking-the-field-with-master-hope-the-first-field-simulation-at-the-unhrd-base-in-brindisi\/"},"modified":"2024-03-18T14:22:09","modified_gmt":"2024-03-18T14:22:09","slug":"taking-the-field-with-master-hope-the-first-field-simulation-at-the-unhrd-base-in-brindisi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/en\/23\/10\/2015\/taking-the-field-with-master-hope-the-first-field-simulation-at-the-unhrd-base-in-brindisi\/","title":{"rendered":"Taking the field with Master HOPE: the first Field Simulation at the UNHRD base in Brindisi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From 5 to 9 October 2015 students of the first edition of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialchangeschool.org\/it\/master\/master-in-humanitarian-operations-in-emergencies-managing-projects-people-administration-logistic-in-the-field\/\">HOPE- Master In Humanitarian Operations in Emergencies Managing Projects, People, Administration &amp; Logistic in the field\u2019s \u00a0<\/a>experienced a <strong>field simulation<\/strong>\u00a0at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unhrd.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UNHRD<\/a>\u00a0base in Brindisi.<\/p>\n<p>UNHRD is a United Nations Human Assistance Network with bases throughout the world. In Brindisi there are structures for <strong>humanitarian training <\/strong>in terms of<strong> \u201creal life\u201d simulation <\/strong>as well as the <strong>United Nations Logistics Base,<\/strong> supporting <strong>peacekeeping operations. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The first two days of the <strong>\u201cWorking in emergency\u201d Workshop<\/strong> focused on classroom lessons held by <strong>Emmanuelle Lacroix<\/strong>, People Capacity &amp; Development Manager at CHS Alliance (<a href=\"https:\/\/chsalliance.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/chsalliance.org<\/a>). Over the following three days, students really played the simulation; they experienced the situation of arriving in a Country affected by humanitarian emergency and beginning to operate there, they also met donors and started activities on field. The eight students were led by four trainers: <strong>Lodovico Mariani-<\/strong> Intersos Operational Support and Training Coordinator in Italy and Master HOPE Co-Coordinator; <strong>Antonello Meloni<\/strong>&#8211; Intersos Desk Africa Assistant; <strong>Erica Berardi<\/strong>&#8211; Intersos Administration Officer and\u00a0<strong>Dora Lisa Mercurio<\/strong>&#8211; Head of Career Coaching, Internship and Didactics in ASVI Social Change.<\/p>\n<p>Students were given a Case Study so that they could act and work in group within a context of emergency.
