Giampiero Giacomel is one of the main European experts on Cultural Philanthropy, President of Cultural Philanthropy Ltd, Director of Social Change School’s Master in Cultural Philanthropy, already Head of Individual Giving at Scottish Opera and of other cultural institutions.
Previously, he used to work as Fundraising and development executive at University Of The Highlands and Islands. He was also Fundraising Coordinator at Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) in London.
In the past, he has worked for the National Autistic Society and Haiti Hospital Appeal in the UK. Prior to his move to London, he contributed to the startup “Guardavanti: futuro dei bambini ONLUS” and he has a five years’ experience in the legal and financial sector. Thanks to his job he is very aware of the difficulties pertinent to the monitoring and management of lobbying and advocacy processes.
He created a new model of advocacy planning called WAVE. He also took part in the Federal Commission of Mexico on Human Rights and to the UN Commission on Human Rights in Geneva. He came in touch with some of the major representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs UK, representatives of the Vatican and of the Italian Parliament.
He is the co-founder of the Italian NGO “Liberi di Credere”, the only organization that promotes and defend religious freedom in Italy.
Giampiero was a former student at Social Change School.
He holds a degree in Law, a Master Diploma in Euro-Mediterranean Cultures and Politics and a Certificate in Fundraising Management. Moreover he attended a great number of courses in Brussels and Boston.
He constantly updates his skills and knowledge by attending the annual Director meetings of Social Change School.
He lives in London, loves the mountains, adores cooking and he is a fan of Tony Stark.
